DeSantis Elections Politics Trump

DeSantis Shakes Up Kentucky Race, Sparks Clash with Trump

Well, isn’t it just delightful to see Governor Ron DeSantis of the “free state of Florida” sticking his nose into yet another political contest? This time, he’s throwing his weight behind former U.N. Ambassador Kelly Craft in the race to unseat a red-state Democratic governor. Because, you know, DeSantis clearly has all the time in the world to meddle in elections outside of his own state.

In his recorded statement shared with Fox News Digital, DeSantis couldn’t resist bashing the current “woke, liberal governor” of Kentucky, who apparently prioritizes a radical agenda over the good people of the state. According to DeSantis, Craft is the solution to all of Kentucky’s problems. She’ll bravely stand up against the left’s attempts to indoctrinate children with their “woke ideology” and fight those pesky ESG policies that threaten the coal industry. And of course, she’ll magically end the fentanyl crisis because, well, why not?

So, the message is clear: Vote for DeSantis’ friend, Kelly Craft, because Kentucky needs to be more like Florida. Because, you know, Florida is the epitome of conservative paradise. Who wouldn’t want to emulate that?

Craft, in turn, expressed her “honored and grateful” sentiments for DeSantis’ support, gushing about his bold and conservative leadership in Florida. Yes, because nothing says bold and conservative like endorsing candidates in other states, right?

Now, this puts DeSantis at odds with former President Donald Trump, who has thrown his weight behind Craft’s opponent, Daniel Cameron. It’s a classic case of DeSantis vs. Trump, battling it out for the glory of endorsements. Who will come out on top? Only time will tell.

But fear not, dear citizens of Kentucky, for Craft has an army of high-profile figures backing her, including Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Mike Pompeo, Senator Ted Cruz, and even House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer. Wow, it’s like a who’s who of conservative endorsements. Craft must be thrilled.

In the end, the winner of this grand Republican primary contest will have the honor of facing Democratic Governor Andy Beshear in the general election. And here we thought it was just a local race in Kentucky. Little did we know it was a bellwether for the entire future of the Republican Party and the nation. Thanks for the drama, DeSantis. We couldn’t have lived without it.
